The Andes Mountains

The Andes Mountains extend over 7 countries; Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, and Ecuador and is the worlds longest exposed mountain range.("Andes Mountains"). They stretch over 4,400 miles and have a width from 120 to 420 miles. The Andes has some of the highest peaks in the world because of its more than 50 peaks that are 20,000 ft above sea level. The highest peak is Aconcagua which is 22,841 ft above sea level.("Andes Mountains"). Also located in the Andes are the capitals of Colombia, Bolivia, and Ecuador.("Ecuador Information"). The Andes are separated into three sections; the southern, the central, and northern Andes. The Andes Mountains are believed to be from plate tectonics caused by the subduction of the Nazca plate going under the South American plate("Ecuador Wonders")..
